This shoot with Sunwray was one of my first brand sessions, and it ended up being one of those days where everything just came together perfectly. From the locations to the light to the overall energy of the shoot, it felt easy, creative, and really fun from start to finish.
Sunwray is owned by Natalie Wray, who designs each piece herself. Being able to work with a local brand that is so hands-on and intentional with their designs made the shoot feel even more meaningful. There’s a lot of thought behind what she creates, and that translated really well visually.

We shot across a few different locations in Newport, including Ann Street Pier, Sachuest Point, and Second Beach. Each spot gave us something different to work with, from coastal textures to more open, natural landscapes, which made it easy to create variety while still keeping everything cohesive.
We worked with three models throughout the shoot, which added a lot of movement and energy. It allowed us to capture a mix of individual moments as well as more dynamic group shots, which worked really well for a brand like this.
One of the standout elements was the 1970s green Volkswagen wagon, which added such a unique, vintage feel to the session. It really helped tie everything together and captured a Newport summer with a local brand perfectly. The whole shoot felt coastal, effortless, and true to the setting, which made everything feel really aligned with Sunwray’s identity.

The lighting was beautiful the entire time, and having enough time at each location made a huge difference. Nothing felt rushed, which allowed everything to unfold naturally and gave us the space to be creative.
I was honestly obsessed with how these turned out. It felt like one of those shoots where everything aligned — the people, the setting, and the overall vision.
This kind of shoot is exactly why I love working with brands. It’s not just about taking photos, it’s about creating something that reflects the identity of the brand and feels intentional from start to finish.
