This session at Chautauqua Park was for Lydia, a high school senior announcing her commitment to CU Boulder, which made it feel especially exciting and meaningful. It was such a fun way to celebrate this next chapter while still keeping the photos natural, relaxed, and true to her.
We shot just before sunset, which is always my go-to in Boulder, especially with the Flatirons in the background.

Chautauqua is one of the most classic and recognizable locations in Boulder, and it was the absolute perfect place to announce her commitment to CU. With the Flatirons in the background, open space, and soft evening light, it instantly gives that iconic Boulder feel. It’s definitely one of the most popular choices for a reason, especially if you want photos that clearly feel connected to Boulder and CU.
We shot about an hour before sunset, which is usually the best timing here since the sun drops behind the mountains earlier. That softer light made everything feel warmer and more natural, and it worked especially well for a mix of simple portraits and more candid moments.
What I loved most about this session was how easy and genuine it felt. We kept things moving, focused on a mix of classic portraits and more relaxed shots, and let the location do a lot of the work. That balance made the gallery feel polished while still feeling personal and real.

If you’re planning commitment photos, senior photos, or graduation photos in Boulder, I’d love to help create something that feels natural and true to you.
